Quick points to note - the responses were not spoken by any of the three researchers present. Also, the cassette recorder used is a large, professional series. Using the built-in condenser microphone did not pick up any mechanical/internal noises from the unit through testing.

I believe this is a mirror carp that I caught fishing with Evan in Uxbridge, MA. It's my first fish over 5 pounds (thinking it was closer to 6 or 7 pounds). Put up a great fight!

Carp typically start spawning when the water temp reaches around 64 degrees F, which can go on for several weeks. You will see them splash wildly in the shallows, usually 1 female to? up to a dozen males.
