You have to match it to your engine power/displacement. Rally cars only use 2" piping and that allows enough back pressure for optimum tuning. Too big an exhaust will kill your bottom end and sound bloody awful. I'm putting a 2.5" on a 3 litre twin cam straight 6. Should be plenty big enough.
