Durring the episodes the TARDIS was flying thru the time vortex and the doors where opening and closing on their own. It was because of a stuck? switch, but they didn't know it. On the screen, everytime it showed a safe place to stop the doors opened, and they closed once the picture changed. They where still "flying" during this.
