At 3:37 there was a huge mistake made. The shingle he is putting down is only three inches from the rake. This means he will need a piece 3 inches long. What should have happened is that he should have calculated for? that when starting the job. If he had adjusted his lines he could have used a much larger piece which would have make for a much better job overall.

No. Wear a? bikini if it makes you comfortable. But seriously just wear something that can protect you from scratches and something you don't mind being torn or splattered with paint/plaster.

do? you have to wear that outfit?

I know it's a little late for advice ten months later, but if you just mutiply the length of both the planes together, in this case 8ft x 5ft = 40 square feet. Typically, a bundle? of shingles measures 33.3 square feet, so you wont be able to get it all out of just one bundle. I'd go with two, assuming that there won't be any ridge capping or valley waste.

Upturned hem on drip edge, eh? Pretty neat. On the bottom eave of the shed, I might have trimed the end off that gable end fascia board so I could get the lower eave drip edge cut? to wrap around the corner. I definitely wouldn't choose a gravel-stop gable drip edge. I also might put more nails in the headlap of the underlayment, so it can't blow around like that. Also, lower eave overhang should be at least one inch. I would also reccommend nailing the final row of shingles down over the ridge.

ur drip edge is wrong on the gable...water will gather on that lip sticking up and be sent? back underneath the shingles.....it should be flat and have a shingle overhang the edge around an inch

Nice video good? understand

Excellent video. Easy to understand. For the conversion challenged: 1 cm = 2.54 inches 10 cm = 4 inches 15 cm = 12 inches 20 cm = 20 inches 6 - 10 mm = 3/16 - 3/8 of an inch 2 cm = 3/4 of an inch ? 14 cm = 5 1/2 inches @old64goat and @moron32 Most of the world operates on metric measurements. They're a Belgium company. Do the conversion. I'm proud to be an American and embarrassed by Americans who think the entire world should cater to us.

Thank You very much, since I? made that comment we needed an entire roof on our house so I had the roofers do the shingles on my 5X8 foor porch roof as well. Thanks again for answering my question.
By: ForeverRotts. on 19 Jun 11, 11:09:27
A good rule of thumb is to buy 1 bundle for every 4x8 sheet of plywood and 1 or 2 extra bundles for the ridge cap. Your 5x8 foot roof would take just over 1 bundle so you'll need to get 2? bundles.

rofl is? this for real this is insanely funny
By: old64goat. on 20 Mar 11, 20:10:47
Good video, except? you are using metric, here in the US we do not use it. I have a 5 foot by 8 foot roof to do, how many bundles do I need. Please in inches and feet, Thanks.
