ACL tears are one of the most common knee injuries afflicting our pets. The injuries are painful, and our pets limp around in misery. The knee injury can be surgically repaired, or if that is not an option the weight of your pets body on the knee can be reduced by using a pet wheelchair.

April 3, 2010, 14+ yr old Molly ruptured a CCL (ligament) in her knee. The Vets said she would never walk again without surgery immediately. Her progress has been slow due to her age, but went well. Now, Jan. 2011, at 15 yrs old, she can again walk very nicely utilizing strict Conservative Management only . She still has a way to go, but I consider CM successful for her (she does too).

Surgery isn't the ONLY option as the video implies. However, many vets do push for it because its very expensive & does provide the owner with a quick fix. However, surgery isn't a guarantee and its important to get more than 1 opinion. Find a vet that doesn't recommend surgery to? get their input as well.
