in the land of the blind,? the one-eyed man is king

charlie lau was without a doubt the worst thing that ever happened to batting theory. his approach defies all the natural laws of logic & physics. any time you drop your power hand off the ball, get out on your front foot & turn into a backhanded tennis player, BAD. stupid. any time you ignore your stronger lower half & swing only with your? weaker upper half, you DO NOT MAXIMIZE YOUR BATSPEED, which is how you become a better hitter. forget charlie lau,it's the road to hell

you are mis-dentifying the "center of gravity".. what you are tyring to identify is the BODY'S VERTICAL CENTERLINE AXIS., whereby you describe the center line? of the vertical axis of the body. dividing the body into 2 equal sides.

Also a controlled hitter will realize if they start to raise their hands to hit? a ball its going to be a ball. one thing that she should emphasize in the video more is that you don't drop your hands or the barrel of the bat to get to bat lag, your hands should go straight through the zone, straight to the ball, out in front of your belly button. quickest path is always a straight line kinda thing.

If you would watch Lau as he swings he always has bat lag.. Every good hitter does. With this technique you can hit a rise ball the great thing about it is that you get your hands out in front of your center of gravity giving you more power when you hit the ball and most importantly you hit the ball out in front? hopefully before the ball starts to rise or as its rising. Most hitters strike out because the pitchers are so good at selling balls for strikes. Good fp hitters hit above .350 easy

Yeah what does Sue know, I mean Mike Candrea? teaches the same hitting structure, and look where it has gotten him?? She is showing you a video in a step by step presentation.....and not actually hitting a ball, therefore of course you are not going to have full extension. If you slow down tape of these big league baseball hitters you are drescribing, everyone of them have a bent elbow until over the center of gravity. I mean can you imagine what a actual straight arm swing would look like?
By: acers59. on 19 Jan 11, 08:07:00
Yeah, what does Sue know. She's only won everything before? your were born. Great videos.
By: max66bhs. on 14 Nov 10, 08:12:54
Look at this swing. Her left arm, her lead arm never even fully extends and her elbows are bent the entire time. This is so bad I can not even believe this woman is saying this and coaching. Go? look at at Edgar Martinez, Ken Griffy Junior, Rod Carew, George Brett, Reggie Jackson, anyone who has a life time batting average of .300 and look at their lead arm, it will be fully extended as will their top arm, after contact. Who hits them self in the shoulder with the bat? No one who can hit.
By: scrabbleking1965. on 27 Sep 09, 03:09:05
The problem isn't premature bat lag it is early release of the lag...... also she keeps saying clubhead like? she is talking about golf.... That said, Coach Enquist is AWESOME and i give this video 5 stars!

So the pitching does not dominate? I am afraid it does. The reason is debateable but the? bottom line still remains the same, no one can hit. The reason for this is becuase they are being taught incorrectly. They are being taught to hit home runs VS hit for averge or consistancy. The pitchers dominate the hitters and that is the fact.
By: max66bhs. on 30 Mar 09, 04:27:26
This is not about winning the CWS, it is about hitting a ball. Pitching dominates women's fast pitch softball, everyone knows this and one of the main reasons for this is because of the style of hitting this woman is teaching, which, by the way she did not invent.? She got this from some baseball guys who invented this style as a way of creating more Drama/HR's in TV baseball games.Charlie Lau's hitting is not taught in MLB for this very reason. But the list of 3000 hits guys is full of Lau guys.
By: max66bhs. on 24 Mar 09, 01:57:42
Sue is not the issue. The issues is hitting. This is rotational hitting as they teach in baseball. Baseball pitchers do not throw riseballs, in fact they start standing on a mound and throw over the top. My credibitiy is also, not the point. Go look up a guy named Charlie Lau. He was a major leach hitting coach and worked with guys like George Brett and Rod Carew. These guys did not hit 50 HR's but they did hit .390. Ever wonder why pitching dominates fastpitch? Now you know.?

Sue vs Max ? I am going with Sue. Sorry Max your credibility is in question. Sorry Buddy!!!
By: max66bhs. on 16 Mar 09, 07:13:53
This is terrible advise. Rise ball pitchers eat these people for? lunch. Ever wonder why there are so many strike outs in FP...the reason is because this style of hitting was developed by guys, on steroids who wanted to hit 40 HRs a year and care little about average or consistency. Drop the bat head at any point VS a decent rise ball pitcher and you will have a nice walk back to the dugout.
