If you use the formulas Covar/Var you'll get a slightly different answer because the var and covar functions use "n-1" weighting. That is, they are calculating the "unbiased estimate of the variance of the sample" rather? than the sample variance. The regression coefficient is calculated using the sample variance. First, I find 10% of it, which is 110. Then I find 20% of it, which is 220. Then I find 1% of it, which is 11. Then I find 3% of it, which is 33. Lastly I add 220 and 33 (20% and 3%) to get 253.
