HAHAHA THE ALPHA VOICE OVER IS AWESOMESAUCE!!!?
By: quizzachu. on 02 May 12, 06:54:45
reward the dog with the toy but hide it until they deserve it, start with something simple. You sit you? get the toy, you stay you get the toy. Your dog will learn that the toy is a reward very quickly
By: kahvei. on 20 Apr 12, 18:27:50
What would you reccomend for a high energy dog, and isn't food motivated but will focus on? NOTHING else but the toy when it's out, and doesn't listen to any command so long as the toy is out?
By: gwav64. on 18 Apr 12, 20:26:16
Great? video.
By: 123animalcrazy. on 15 Apr 12, 03:07:57
well try to maybe run or jog with her like i do? with my dog or you could teach her to run on a treadmill, or if she has doggy friends you could let them run around and play with each other. hope i was helpful.
By: magickelfgirl. on 15 Apr 12, 01:31:11
She's a mixed breed and I never saw the parents, so I've no way to know what breeds or mix of breeds she shares blood with; however, she has a tendency to try to bite my ankles when I try to run with her, which makes me thing there's some shepherd heritage somewhere. Which is what makes me worry that part of the reason of her biting is that she needs more exercise (I don't live near a park so I can only? walk her in the street and play with her in the backyard)
By: 123animalcrazy. on 14 Apr 12, 02:48:07
what breed? is your dog? different breeds have different energy levels.
By: magickelfgirl. on 10 Apr 12, 22:56:36
Is there a way to measure a dog's energy level to know if they're high energy or not? I've a lot of biting? and chewing issues with my pup and I don't know if it's just teething or a sign of too much pent up energy. I don't have the time to exercise her as much as this video suggests, I walk her mornings and evenings and play a little in the afternoon, but due to work that's all I can do. She's with me most of the time, as my office is at home (which does not mean I have more leisure time!)
By: jacqueparsons72. on 01 Apr 12, 18:50:55
i think this clip is good as i've been trying to teach my pup (7 month black lab) simple tricks but mainly concentrating on obedience, i was trying to use treats and although he is interested? he much prefers play as his reward and your the only trainer ive found on utube so far that uses this tecnique
By: javamanV3. on 31 Mar 12, 00:13:53
Hmmm ... I think it is interesting that: 1. You find a? perfectly nicely meant piece of advice to be "rude". 2. You took offence about "lounging around"! You must be a fat pig - where ever you are from, and also a snob!
By: cbattles. on 29 Mar 12, 20:04:30
What a rude thing to say.? I have a farm and shelties, lots of room for dogs to run and play and have a great life. I don't have to take my dogs to the park to play with them. I'm sure there are ways to teach dogs to fetch without being an athlete. There is a big difference between running around a field like an athlete and "lounging around" as you call it -- lots of room in the middle. What a stupid, rude remark. You must be American.
By: javamanV3. on 29 Mar 12, 19:53:51
Great video! Going out to try it right away ... but first: Showing the moon at the beginning was very cool - my border collie Brody loves to bark at the moon and looks for? it every time out. Recently, though, he really outdid himself - he is running across the yard at full speed, and all of a sudden he pulls up short and just starts staring into the sky. When i get to where i have his view, I see that he is staring at Venus! Thanks again
By: javamanV3. on 29 Mar 12, 19:45:49
If you are not able to play with your dog - get a dog? that likes to lounge around! In other words the make the type of dog fit your own situation. Border Collie, as in the vid, is a definite no-no!
By: cbattles. on 11 Mar 12, 15:04:59
You have great advice on relationship, but not much practical advice for how to? train the dog if you are not able to run and jump. What about dog owners who like dogs but are not able to keep up with running around with them the way you do. you are not even 30 and look like you work out in addition to rpmping with your dogs 7 days a week. We are not all like that. You say learning to fetch is super important, but your lessons in how to do that require an athlete to perform.
By: Beverlynnrose. on 02 Mar 12, 20:57:29
This was the most helpful advice on training my high energy, wonderful, dog rescue, Atticus. Thank you. I have patience and now I have? the starting point, the tool to begin with. You are awesome!!!

I like Nova, but he seems? a bit pushy at times...Alpha is more mellow and easy to please, it seems. But they are all so lovable! The voice-overs match perfectly :)
By: Marxism5. on 01 Feb 12, 00:42:35
I would recommend taking them to a dog groomer. The good ones will often give you good tips on how to keep them clean, fresh and pretty when you can't take them somewhere to get cleaned. ?
By: Marxism5. on 01 Feb 12, 00:40:05
The more videos I watch, the more I start loving his dogs too... But I gotta say, the personality of Nova just makes me laugh every time. :)? But they're all sweeties.

go kill yourself loser. get a life instead of sitting in your mothers basement talking shit on youtube videos. I checked your channel to see you dog training videos since you claim to be the second best dog trainer, to my surprise you have none. Which in turn makes you a over weight virgin who? lives a fantasy life on the internet. Your father shouldve used a condom.

I have a question: I still go to university now but I love Border Collies and would love to have one later. But I assume I would be working full time in the future. Is it still possible to raise a Border Collie while working full time? I would think? of walking about 30-60 minutes in the morning and about 2 hours in the evening. And I know they should be exercised mentally and physically. I love dogs, so I have enough devotion, but would it be enough time to spend with them?
