@LaoSoftwear, rest easier knowing your puppy is not trying to piss you off. It sounds like your puppy is very stressed out being in his crate. I would start by moving the crate into your bedroom do that he can hear and smell you. He may be stressed from being alone. Next, go through the training steps shown in this video? to show him that being in a crate can be fun. You can feed him in his crate and provide KONGs stuffed with peanut butter. A Thundershirt or Adaptil collar may be beneficial as

My 4 month old dashhubd mix cockapoo doesn't like his crate. He foams at the mouth everytime I lock him up for the night. In the morning, he would be all wet. from drooling. It's pissing me off. How can I make my puppy cooperate? with me?

I think the easiest thing would be to make his crate a super place to be. If his choice is between a hard floor and a big fluffy bed in the crate, the choice is easier? to make. Using this method to teach him how to go in the crate helps as he is building a strong positive association to the crate. You could also give a KONG stuffed with peanut butter or other tasty treat every night at bedtime to encourage him.

So I have a Toy Fox Terrier, he is very tiny (my fore arm is his length). I bought him "cage" (not the wire one) but its kind of big for him so what I did was put a pillow all the way to the? back and put his bed in there w/ his toys. I would like for him to realize "hey this is my sleeping spot so when my owner is sleeping I need to be in my room sleeping too". How do I make it so he does that?

A 5 week old puppy is very capable of learning through clicker training. Her attention span will be much shorter, so you will have to take your time working with her. ? I would train for no more than 2-5 minutes at a time. Be patient with her. Happy clicking!

See post above. Sorry, I was typing on my iPod. Not great for this sort of thing! Thanks for your question.?

Sorry that cut me off and I didn't know it. Let me continue: I never made her go any farther than she felt comfortable. If I had tossed? treats, she may have gotten anxious having to step into the crate to get them. 4) Once she was comfortable going in and out, I delivered treats inside the crate to promote duration inside the crate. There are always multiple ways to train anything. I'm sure that giving them in the crate would be fine. This is what works for me!

Thank you for you question. I admit, it would seem a bit odd to reward outside of the crate. I have a couple of reasons for doing this. 1) in the beginning, I am teaching Briley to go into the crate. I toss the treat outside to set her up to go inside again. 2)? I want her to offer the behavior of going into the crate on her own. I don't want to bribe her by tossing the treat inside. 3) she gets to go at her own pace. This dog HATED her crate. But during her training, I never made her go any far

I am a bit old school with dog training I am? still rather new to the whole clicker idea I was wondering why you reward the dog for leaving the crate?
