NASATweetups for Launch of STS135 were invited by SpaceX to hear Dr. Garrett Reisman speak about the Dragon capsule which is what NASA will be using for lower earth orbit in lieu of the Space Shuttle. This was on July 6, 2011, at SpaceX near Port Canaveral.
Members of the NASATweetup for the Lunch of STS-135 were invited to SpaceX to see the tested Dragon capsule and hear former NASA Astronaut, Dr.Garrett Reisman (STS-132) speak about this project, plans for the future.

We were at Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. Due to fog/haze, we could not see the Shuttle Discovery until it was not far from the VAB. We had hoped for a NW to SE trajectory, but they changed it to SE to NW. We edited from the BaBoom to the landing, about 2 min. lapse. A flock of Rosetta Soonbills and other birds went nuts wqhen the Boom occurred!

I had my laptop with NASAtv running to stay current, and when we heard that they were not going to fly to the right over land, we were disappointed, because they would have flown right over? us.
