BUT any LED can? be "pulsed" to several times its ALWAYS_ON voltage rating anyway as they are ONLY destroyed by an ABOVE AVERAGE peakpowerlevel in a given time frame- such that an LED pulsed for 10 microsecs per EACH SECOND will appear to be always on- but can be HARD driven to several times it's voltage "max" to no ill effect (just as long as the average power rating is NOT exceeded) Hard wire them as ... Now I just "run" Xmas fairy lights in series (preloaded to what I need) hard wired as X-crossovers AND they are in multi colours & make impressive displays- especially as I RUN a 25 ch 62 speaker spherical analogue surroundsound system with 72 of them Xmas lights ..
