Conures are known for being loud when they want to, and it has been in my experince that on average conure's are much louder then cockatiels. The Aviator harness is a good choice. trust me, it's better to be safe then sorry. When you think about it, the 20$ is worth the piece of mind. As far as how Chippy is outside, he is very good, but he is not trained to recall back to me. There is no way to adjust the size of the neck collar, it is a safety that the company put on the harnesses so that the birds cannot hurt themselves by? getting a wing out through the head collar. They are easy to put on, you should not have a problem, it will be snug though. If that doesn't work, they can be ordered online off the Parrot University website. I would suggest useing only this harness if Beaker is to be flying outside, all of ther leashes could hurt? him if the wind picked him up and he needed to re adjust, or if he missed your mark and had to try again. Most wood toys are dyed with a vegetable based dye, and this is fine for your birds. The only thing I suggest keeping away from is flavored wood as this can encourage your bird to eat the wood which can cause MAJOR problems, even death. A lot of pet stores do not keep them because there isn't as much of a demand for tropical birds in country that gets so cold in the winter, similar to not seeing St. Bernards in Mexico or Africa! I have seen people use these for bird? toys, and the only thing that I would say is to check what wood they are made of and to make sure the paint is lead free. Blocks marked as Baby safe are the best, but the wood is something you NEED to check, the wood must be bird safe! If i get those ...
